The purpose of this exercise is to look at who we are as a person and analyze aspects of our world that sadden us (what upsets you in the news?). Then find a related news article that portrays aspects of how this act is displayed in our world. Next, I would like you to research society’s and justice systems that are helping or aiding in the battle and if you were interested, what you could do after graduating to get into a field of work or study that would assist in fighting your cause.
Step 1: Brainstorm what makes you angry or upset? Ex. Animal abuse, abuse of females / males or new laws that go against your beliefs.
Step 2: Go online and use the internet to locate a news article related to your potential cause / act that makes you sad. Make sure to print the article (attach it) and read over it so that you are able to speak to it as a resource in your reflection. As well, record a summary sentence of your article on the lines below.

Step 4: Research the education that you need or volunteer roles that you need to assist in building your career or volunteer role to help your cause. What roles would you like to have?
Step 5: Write a reflection that encompasses all aspects of this outline, steps 1-4. Please see the english_10_writing_rubric for your assessment.
